I came across this quote on Pinterest the other day (no
source), and it made me stop for a few minutes to let the simple words soak in.
I immediately thought about several situations and people in my life that have
hurt me in some way or another. Then I realized, I'm really not entitled to an
apology. Dwelling on my own hurt feelings and indignant thoughts is thinking
only of me. That isn't how I want to live. How true is it that forgiving
someone before they apologize (or if they never do) really frees your own heart
from malice and anger?
Personally, I would rather live life with a smile instead of
a scowl. Perhaps this is one way to promote that goal.
