Violet at Five Months

I feel like Violet has changed a lot this month. She is a major wiggle worm now and if I put her down on a blanket on the floor, I look over a minute later and she has rolled and scooted halfway across the room. She is already on the move! The warmer weather has been good for us as Violet seems to enjoy being outside, whether it's a stroll around the neighborhood, walk to the mailbox, or as we discovered yesterday, a dip in the pool! Her shrieking has increased this month as she is discovering her voice and apparently likes hearing it. It does hurt mama's ears at times, but the look on her face during the shrieking is too funny.

I try to get out every other week to run errands with her on a Saturday so she will get used to being good while out. She does well, sometimes in the stroller, sometimes in the Ergo or Balboa. We always get lots of comments when we're out, mostly "what a beautiful baby!" and "she's so alert!" and "look at those big eyes!" She has only been mistaken for a boy once, and she was in the ergo chewing on a blue toy. I usually try to have a bow on her when we are out so there is no confusion :)

We celebrated Mother's day together and apparently no one gave Violet the memo that it was a special day, because she was super fussy all day! Such is life, right?
