Juliet Elise at Four Months

Miss Juliet is already four months old. I asked Tim last night if he thnks it has gone quickly. He said "no." LOL! I said it has gone fast but slow. The days and nights feel long and like we are not making any progress, but then you blink and a week has passed.

The past month has been especially hard due to illnesses that went through our house. Someone in the house has been sick every day since November! Christmas Eve was spent in the ER with Juliet because she was not eating and throwing up her reflux medicine. This was probably a result of her ear infection; and once we switched antibiotics, she was better. This week is the first week we have all felt good and back to normal, so we are very grateful for that and hoping viruses and yuckiness stay away for the remainder of the winter.

Juliet (aka my conjoined twin) has become a little more vocal this month! She likes to sing and "talk" and sometimes it gets quite loud! She now grasps rattles and Sophie the giraffe and responds to their noises. Her favorite place is still right next to mommy. Mommy is possibly going a tiny bit batty from the constant nature of caring for a baby with such needs. But God is good and gives us what we need to get through each day. Juliet's sweet smiles are those darn kissable cheeks keep Mommy going!

Christmas was a bit of a bummer because all of us girls were sick. Violet's birthday was basically cancelled so we plan to do something fun to celebrate it with her in the weeks to come. Sometimes, in the midst of daily activity, I stop and wonder if all this is real. Do I really have a husband, a house, and kids? Is that little blonde girl demanding "potcorn" (popcorn) really mine?? Many moments are surreal, but I am so grateful for the blessing and burden of being a mother!
